Scarborough

Scarborough

Scarborough is a district of Toronto. It is one of the most diverse areas in Toronto. It is also home to the Toronto Zoo, the Rouge, the Bluffs, to name just a few of its many treasures.

This iconic locale, contains many parks, recreational hiking and walking trails, picnic areas, restaurants, and a large marina with a boating club.

Bluffers Park, with its beautiful sandy beach, offers residents and visitors a way to enjoy the blue waters of Lake Ontario.

In 1650 when aboriginal populations first made contact with European explorers and settlers, "The Bluffs", went by it's Mississauga name of “Yat.qui.I.be.no.nick”, reflecting its geographical position as the first creek below the high land.

First Nations, dating back over 10,000 years, including the Mississaugas, Seneca, Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat, inhabited this area.

Guildwood, featured in this design, located just east of the Scarborough Bluffs on Lake Ontario, is one of Toronto’s most beautiful neighbourhoods.
