Sandbanks

SKU: 177

Sandbanks is a natural gem. It boasts the world’s largest bay mouth barrier dune formation, and perhaps some of the of the nicest sandy beaches in Canada.

Sandbanks, as this design suggests, is also a bird migration mecca.

With numerous walking paths there is no shortage of ways that visitors can explore and enjoy this wetland paradise.

First Nations, including the Wendat (Huron), Haudenosaunee (Iroquois), and Mississauga,

dating back over 8,000 years, inhabited the area. There were once over 500 first nations villages in PEC, and a population larger than the current one.

Samuel de Champlain came through the area in 1615.
