Runnymede is a family neighbourhood, with good schools, shopping and access to the subway.
The area was developed in the early 1800's , on the estate of John Scarlett, who settled in 1808, and became the owner of a number of mills along the Humber Bay.
First Nations, dating back over 10,000 years, including the Mississaugas, Seneca, Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat, inhabited this area.
The Runnymede Library, featured in this design, was constructed in 1904, and continues to offer its patrons a wide selection of reading material.
