Picton, the largest community in PEC, is known for its architecture, heritage, local restaurants and pubs.
Picton Harbour, featured in this design, is a prime destination for the many sailboats that populate Picton Bay.
First Nations, including the Wendat (Huron), Haudenosaunee (Iroquois), and Mississauga,
dating back over 8,000 years, inhabited the area. There were once over 500 first nations villages in PEC, and a population larger than the current one.
Samuel de Champlain came through the area in 1615. Picton was later settled by Loyalists in 1780.
