Parry Sound

Parry Sound is  located on the eastern shores of Georgian Bay about two hours north of Toronto.
 
Parry Sound boasts the deepest natural freshwater harbour., and is the central hub of the Georgian Bay Biosphere - a protected UNESCO area.
 
The area was named after the British Arctic explorer William Parry.
 
The beauty of this scenic locale  is enjoyed by residents and the many cottagers who frequent the area in the summer months.
 
Art lovers will recognize the area as the inspiration for Canadian painters including the world famous Group of Seven's Tom Thomson and our own George Graziani  aka GGArtCanada (https://grazianiart.threadless.com/collections/landscapes-canada).
 
First Nations, dating back over 10,000 years, including the Wendat, Anishinaabeg, and Haudenosaunee, inhabited this area. 
The Anishinaabeg people have traditionally used the area for hunting and trading.
