Oakville #6 (Bronte)

Oakville #6 (Bronte)

SKU: 142

Oakville, Ontario’s largest town (2021 Census), is located in the Halton region, between Toronto and Hamilton.

With both close access to Toronto, and its small town vibe, it’s no wonder Oakville was voted the overall best place to live in Canada and the best place for New Canadians (2018, Money Sense).

Bronte, located in the west end of Oakville, is a charming community with a multiplicity of attractions enjoyed by residents and tourists alike.

From hiking the Heritage trails, to bird watching (yes, there are white owls), chilling on the beach, cruising on the harbour, or dining out, there is no shortage of things to do in Bronte Village.

Perhaps nothing says Bronte as much as the quaint outer harbour, featured in this design, with a view of the sailboats and the Banquet & Conference Centre in the background.

When founded in 1834, Bronte was a small fishing village, named as a tribute to the British Naval hero Horatio Nelson, the Duke of Bronte.

First Nations, dating back over 10,000 years, including the Ojibway, Anishinaabe, and Wendat inhabited this area, particularly along the Bronte River, with later migration to the shores of Lake Ontario
