Lytton Park
Lytton Park, with its mature tree lined streets, proximity to shops and parks, offers residents and visitors a classic mid-town Toronto experience.
First Nations, dating back over 10,000 years, including the Mississaugas, Seneca, Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat, inhabited this area. In the 1400’s a Huron-Wendat Village, housing about 500 people in longhouses was nestled among nearby corn fields.
Initially, a 200 acre farm, with a single house (1828), with the arrival of the Metropolitan Street Railway in 1886, this locale experienced its first of many residential growth spurts.
The Lytton Park Sunken Garden, or Herbert Begg Memorial Garden, featured in this design, is a romantic little garden, where if you are with the right person, you may feel the presence of Cupid.
