Lake on the Mountain is a water mystery of giant, one might say mountain sized proportions. The lake has a constant flow of clean fresh water, and yet set 60 meters above lake Ontario, there is no apparent source for this water. Are the laws of gravity somehow suspended? Is there magic afoot here? Hmm. Best see for yourself.
First Nations, including the Wendat (Huron), Haudenosaunee (Iroquois), and Mississauga,dating back over 8,000 years, inhabited the area.
There were once over 500 first nations villages in PEC, and possibly a population larger than the current one. Samuel de Champlain came through the area in 1615.
