Gravenhurst

SKU: 78

The quaint cottage town of Gravenhurst, situated in Muskoka, borders on both Lake Muskoka and Gull Lake.

Lumbering and sawmills were an important part of Gravenhurst’s history.

Built in 1887, the RMS Segwun, featured in this design, is the oldest operating steam driven vessel in North America. After arriving by train, early visitors took the Segwun to their summer homes and holiday resorts. It is still fully in operation and is a great way to see some of the Muskoka lakes.

First Nations, dating back over 10,000 years, including the Anishinaabeg inhabited this area.

Gravenhurst (aka the Gateway to Muskoka), with its lakes, forests and rocky landscape continues to enchant visitors with a full range of activities from boating and swimming to arts and concerts, or an evening at the Gravenhurst Opera House. The annual antique boat and car shows are as popular as ever, and a great time to take in all Gravenhurst has to offer!
