Deer Park

SKU: 67

Deer Park, located in one of Toronto's most vibrant commercial centres for shopping, entertainment, and business, is also flush with parkland and ravines.

The Delisle – St. Clair Parkette, tucked behind a row of commercial buildings, featured in this design, is one of many examples in the area, where residents and visitors can enjoy the lush greenery Deerpark has to offer.

First Nations people referred to the area as “Mushquoteh” / "mishkodae", which means a meadow or opening in the wood where deer come to feed.

In 1837, the Heath family purchased forty acres of land in the area and named their estate Deer Park.

By the 1850’s, this locale had grown to include a general store, a school, a cemetery, a race track, and a hotel, where patrons could feed the deer roaming on the hotel grounds.
