Bloor West Village
Bloor West Village, a family friendly gem, with historic homes, mature tree-lined streets, proximity to terrific parks, great restaurants, and lovely shops, has something for everyone.
The fruit stands in Bloor West Village, featured in this design, are recognized as perhaps the best in Toronto.
In the 1850’s, this area was the property of Lieutenant Colonel William Smith Durie, the first commanding officer of the Queens Own Rifles.
In 1909, with its amalgamation with Toronto, this locale began its development into what we know today.
Prior to the 17th century, the area would have been inhabited by First Nations people including the Mississaugas, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples.
