Bloomfield
Bloomfield, situated right smack in the center of PEC, is quaint personified, and the perfect home base for exploring the county.
With its Loyalist architecture, boutique shops, galleries, and restaurants, there is no shortage of charm.
Farmers settled the area in the 1700’s, and there are still working farms right in town today. With fresh local ingredients right down the street it is no wonder so many chefs call Bloomfield home.
Bloomfield’s main stretch, featured in this design, is the perfect spot for searching for that special treasure, be it clothing, accessories, kitchen supplies, or a quirky local find.
First Nations, including the Wendat (Huron), Haudenosaunee (Iroquois), and Mississauga,
dating back over 8,000 years, inhabited the area. There were once over 500 first nations villages in PEC, and a population larger than the current one.
Samuel de Champlain came through the area in 1615.
