Alderwood

SKU: 212

Alderwood, located in Etobicoke, Toronto, is a well established family neighbourhood with plenty of green space.

in 1797, Col. Sam Smith, was one of the first settlers of the area.

In 1850, Archibald Cameron purchased the land. Perhaps he was attracted to the abundance of alder trees, from which this locale derived its name.

First Nations, dating back over 10,000 years, including the Mississaugas, Seneca, Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat, inhabited this area.

In the early 1900's local residents the O'Connor sisters, put Alderwood on the map with their famous vaudeville act.

The natural beauty of Etobicoke Creek, featured in this design, offers visitors and residents a respite from the bustle of modern life.
